Children’s Rights in Design – Helsinki

In January the Children’s Rights in Design talkoot took place in Helsinki. With an international crowd of over 70 designers, researchers, professors and developers we collaborated on establishing the foundation of guidelines on how to design for and with children.

UNICEF stands for the rights of children, in this digital era this also means looking out for how companies and businesses embrace or disregard these rights. With their current assessment tool we looked at how these established rights can be embedded in the design process and thereby in our future designs.

It has been wonderful to participate in this important event and make a start in formulating and spreading children’s rights in design and provide designer’s tools to design ethically and responsibly. The guide can be found here.
