TinkerTiles is a playful learning tool kit that facilitates ‘system-thinking’ or modelling in a physical, spatial and playful way, designed for primary schools. Using whiteboard tiles and arrows a system can be sketched out on the floor. Using acting-out children can learn about the system they’ve created in a playful explorative way.
In the process of designing Tinker Tiles I followed an iterative approach. Through meetings and users tests at different primary schools I was able to establish learning tool that fitted with the future ambitions of primary schools: the implementation of design- based learning.
